Today I have to write about a country where we'd like live or visit, and I'm going to tell you about Recife.
For a Congress of Sociology I had the luck to know Recife, a small city in Brazil, located north-east of Latin America. I spent a week there, in Congress for the mornings and to visiting beautiful places for the afternoons, and was long enough to fall in love with this paradise.
Its beautiful beaches, its simple people, perfect weather, meals, etc., left me feeling that time moves slower there, because people can work at day and play football on the beach at night, for example.
I must confess, though, that this paradise also has problems like any city in Latin America: poverty, homelessness, crime... but nothing to make me doubt the possibility of returning to his landscapes and reconnect with those people.
I don't know if I would move to a place, perhaps if fate let me, but I have clear that I kept wanting more and Brazil has a lot to learn.

Hello everyone! (:
My name is Alexia such as the blog, and I'm 22 years old. I was born in Santiago on March 7th, 1990, in Hospital Paula Jaraquemada.
I grew up in Recoleta, Pudahuel and Recoleta again. Actually I live in Pudahuel with my parents and two younger brothers.
I did my elementary school at Escuela Francisco Bilbao and Colegio Piamarta. The high school I made it at the Colegio María Auxiliadora de Santiago. Currently studying sociology at the University of Chile. I'm in 5th grade but I course 3th and 4th grade subjects.
I have no particular hobby, but I like reading and listen to music, especially new artist to be sorprised. Nowadays, the most important activity in my life is university politics. Maybe, some day, I get involved in my country's politics. For now, I just want to approve (and improve) english!
I’m going to talk about my first term this year. Unlike other first terms, this semester has very different to other years because 2011 protest. Usually first terms are a mix of good and bad subjects with protest and a lot of activities, but in this case the strike just don’t start.
In my free time, I work in university politics, so I don’t was very happy for the situation. We try to make understand the importance of massiveness in protest and the necessity of colective decisions, but the results wasn’t the best. Anyway, this semester seems better than last one in this aspect.
On the other hand, a good point was my subjects. I learned about statistics, structure and social action of Latin America, Social movements, political party and others. All of my subjects was very interesting and useful, with excelent teachers. Also, I finally pass the most of my career subjects, so I’m more close to out of university and start my professional life. I’m really excited and nervous about it.
